Dear all – just a few bits of extra news this week, the first being a message which was on Facebook from the REME Museum

“Here is a notice to make you all aware of 'live' firing taking place at the Museum in Lyneham this weekend.
Our Wartime Britain event is taking place this weekend, 7-8 May. There will be live-firing demonstrations of large artillery over the course of the weekend, which can produce loud explosion noises for short periods of time.
These demonstrations will be taking place at 11 am
and 3 pm on both Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th.”
Thank you for your understanding”

The following information has been taken from Elaine’s weekly newssheet and if you would like to receive this weekly from Elaine then contact her on [email protected] as each week she will tell you what services and events are on at which churches within the benefice.

“At a lovely service on Tuesday 3rd, May at Salisbury Cathedral Rachma became a non-residentiary canon in Salisbury Cathedral’s College of Canons. Each new canon was allocated a stall in the Cathedral Quire and becomes part of the Cathedral’s extended family. Rachma should now officially be referred to as Rev’d Canon Rachma Abbott but be careful about the spelling of canon!! At the same service, the Rural Dean of Calne and Vicar of Royal Wootton Bassett was also welcomed into the College of Canons. Congratulations to both of them and the three other new canons”
